 Role description and opportunities

If you are passionate about storytelling, technology, and the spirit of a startup, this is your role. The Pershing X marketing principal plays a critical role in leading elements of the strategy, projects, and campaign tasks in support of a key BNY Mellon strategic initiative, Pershing X.  The individual in this role will have an amazing opportunity to work with a collaborative and fast-growing team working on exciting and innovative digital product offerings. The role will work with an integrating marketing and communications team and key business partners to create compelling and successful tactics to introduce Pershing X. Responsibilities include leading the go-to-market strategy and defining personas and buying journeys, developing value prop messaging and content, and managing demand gen.   

 The Pershing X marketing principal should be someone who possesses grace under pressure, delivers high-quality work, has start-up and technology experience, and drives projects forward.

 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Leads and implements the go to market strategy in support of key initiatives and business targets with a focus on metrics and measurable results.
  • Defines and develops personas, buying journeys, value prop messaging and ongoing content.
  • Skilled multi-tasker who handles pressure well and can work with a wide range of people on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Energetic innovator with diverse skill sets, sound judgement and strong points of view who can take initiative to put creative ideas into motion. Introduces increasingly forward-thinking content, selling new ideas and storytelling concepts that will drive the business to new creative heights.
  • Actively seeks input from the business to make timely and well-informed decisions, shaping insights and thought leadership into winning strategies. Promotes a sense of urgency that establishes individual accountability.
  • Focal point for individual business lines. Establishes collaborative relationships with internal and external clients to align thinking on strategic objectives, acting as a valuable resource for the business, and fostering an environment of trust. Helps clients weigh options, evaluate trade-offs, and make critical decisions, exceeding expectations in business management and insight.
  • Positions the business as an industry leader in relevant market segments by managing collaboration between product and sales, as well as other cross-divisional teams, in support of business plans and corporate goals.

A successful candidate should ideally have these qualifications

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines, juggle multiple priorities and execute flawlessly with great attention to detail
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing go-to-market strategies
  • Proactive and collaborative multitasker with exceptional communications skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • A passionate and high-energy style, excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.  Degree in Communications or Marketing is preferred
  • 10 - 12 years of total work experience preferred. Familiarity with internal and external outreach, social media, and collaboration tools is preferred. Prior event experience a plus
