Job Description

Mission:

The Product Marketing team within Bill.com is the driving force behind getting products to market and growing their impact on customers and the business. We represent the voice of the customer - before, during and after launch, articulate a product’s value in a way that resonates with customers and differentiates vis-a-vis the competition, and drive product adoption, retention, and advocacy.

The product marketing team works cross functionally with product, user experience, support, sales, customer success, brand, growth, creative, and legal, making it an extremely dynamic and influential part of the organization. You’ll be responsible for driving both strategy and execution across the entire GTM lifecycle and be responsible for supporting growth in key business metrics.

This role will be focused on developing holistic insights based on market research and competitive intelligence. You’ll manage a team, a research budget, competitive intelligence systems, vendors, and external partners to execute against this mission. You’ll work with the rest of the PMM team, and partners in PM, Sales, GTM, and UX to share insights and influence the overall positioning of the business and product. Success will be measured through your ability to engage and influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Professional Experience/Background to be successful in this role:

  • Uncover market insights - lead the company through expertise on the market, segment, buyer, users, competitors, and the product
  • Influence product strategy & development - support PMs, UX, and Engineering in building the “right thing”
  • Create positioning & messaging - drive strategic positioning/messaging in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Create and drive GTM around insights

Competencies (Attributes needed to be successful in this role):

  • Experience in developing and launching new products and features
  • Experience in market research and competitive intelligence
  • Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and leaders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with and make sense of large data sets
  • Experience in B2B SaaS and/or Payments businesses
  • 10 plus years of product marketing or related experience

Expected Outcomes in 3, 6, or 12 months:

  • In 3 months, you’d have developed a strong understanding of the competitive landscape across the various segments, gotten to know key analysts, and develop a roadmap of required research
  • In 6 months, you’d have established the systems and processes required to develop high quality insights across competitive intelligence, market research, and analyst relations
  • In 12 months, you’d have contributed directly to product and go-to-market strategy through the insights, systems, and processes you’d have built up
