Job Description

Mission:

Bill.com is looking for a Senior Brand Designer for our Creative Studio within Marketing. This is what you will do:

  • Design: You’ll be a key team member of the Creative Studio and for all of Marketing, working on a variety of initiatives—from campaigns and web-pages to A/B ad testing, collateral, signage and more
  • Build: Craft our visual brand by making engaging experiences and touch points for our customers and customers-to-be
  • Concept: Team up with fellow creatives (art directors, designers, animators, writers, and illustrators) to develop eye-catching work and pitch it to stakeholders
  • Own your work: You will be empowered to do your best work and see your ideas through from concept to launch. Be a strong advocate for consistent and cohesive design
  • Steward the brand: Help refine and strengthen the Bill.com brand by designing within and extending our visual brand. Know when to push the limits, and when to just get stuff done
  • Leverage data: Be able to turn analytic insights into concrete design solutions
  • Collaborate and lead: Work with your creative team, savvy marketers, and others to maximize the value that creativity brings to the company
  • Always keep learning: Pay attention to trends and best practices. Learn from others. We believe that Creative is a team sport, and the best solutions don’t come from you or me, but from us together

Professional Experience/Background to be successful in this role:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience on the agency side or in-house
  • Marketing knowledge and background with a results driven-driven orientation 
  • Excellent portfolio, showcasing hands-on work and concepting ability
  • Pixel-perfect production abilities when needed
  • Adobe Creative Suite mastery and experience with Figma or a fast learner to new software
  • Experience with Project Management software (Jira, Asana, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of web and email best practices

+ Strong plus for: Video editing experience, Wireframing, and/or rapid-iterative ad testing

  • Expert ability to craft visual hierarchy with a knowledge design and typography
  • Ability to craft creative solutions that align with marketing strategy, business goals, and brand
  • Excellent at communicating design intent, advocating for your work, and comfortable suggesting alternate ideas to peers and managers
  • Good at setting expectations and meeting (or exceeding) them
  • Can handle details with accuracy and creatively integrate feedback on projects
  • Good judgment on when to run with slight ambiguity or ask more questions
  • Strong organizational skills, collaborative, and skilled at working cross-functionally
  • Execute tasks independently as well as part of a team

Expected Outcomes in 3, 6, or 12 months:

In 90 Days

  • Become proficient designing within our current current and evolving visual brand
  • Build relationships with creative team and fellow marketers
  • Design of web pages, landing pages, ads, and emails that meet or exceed requestor expectations
  • Review past winning social ads, craft new creative, and beat some control ads with your work

  

In 12 Months

  • Concept and implement creative solutions for a variety of successful marketing projects and campaigns
  • Support efforts to launch a new brand campaign aligned with new product integrations
  • Lead efforts to ensure our brand is being applied consistently across the organization
  • Establish a relationship across the Marketing team as a reliable, trusted, and knowledgeable partner
